The Open 2019 – What you need to know!

First of all DO IT! You won’t regret it. There are scaled and RX options. You can register under CrossFit Oakland, CrossFit Oakland Uptown or CrossFit EGA.

Whether or not you are registered, please read the following:

Saturday heats will be run at 10am at one of our 3 gyms on a rotating basis. You can participate in these heats ONLY if you are officially registered for the Open. You can register here

If you are officially registered at CrossFit Oakland or CrossFit Oakland Uptown you will be included in the Saturday heat lists automatically. If you will not be participating in the Saturday heats, please let us know by emailing (each week) so that we can take you off the list for that day.

If you are registered at CrossFit EGA, open workouts will be programmed for classes all day on FRIDAYS.  Participants will NOT automatically be added to the Saturday heat lists as most of you will be completing the workouts on Friday. However, you are most welcome to join the larger community on Saturdays. If you would like to be included in the Saturday heats, please email us at so that we can add you to a heat.

Saturday heat locations will be announced on social media after each Thursday announcement. Mandatory workout briefings take place at 9:45am with the first heat starting at 10am each Saturday.

Group classes will be held at 8am ONLY on Saturdays – NO 9am group classes – for the 5 weeks of the Open for those not participating.

If you would like to complete the Open workout outside the official Saturday heats (Fridays at EGA), you will be responsible for understanding the movement standards and providing a judge.

Your official scores MUST be submitted through the CrossFit Games site/app by 5pm on Mondays. Only scores officially submitted on time can be validated. Mike, Tamara and Arnold will be validating scores.

You can watch the Open Workout announcements and look over all other workout details/standards/demos here.

Let us know if you have any questions/concerns!
