Goal-Setting Workshop Summary
Thanks to everyone who attended the goal-setting workshop on Saturday. We tackled everyone’s goals and made suggestions for next steps. Here are a couple of nuggets:
Set up an appointment with your coach of choice. We can help you 1) make a plan 2) progress through the steps proficiently and 3) provide accountability, feedback, and much more.
Keep your goals SMART (Specific-Measurable-Achievable-Realistic-Time Bound
Some goals were shared by multiple people, so at Uptown we are taking the following specific steps:
For goals IN the gym: Progressions/Mobility/Accessory work will be posted on the whiteboard for some of the more common movements. Remember, you need to commit to time, patience and regular check-ins with your coach for the best chance at success.
For goals OUTSIDE the gym: We have created a private group on My Fitness Pal. You can log your food, water, exercise and even sleep and share with your group. We feel there is a greater chance for success with mindfulness and accountability. Group name: Uptown Phat Club. In addition to keeping you on track, you will get to see MY food and drink intake. I have pledged to be completely honest and welcome your feedback.

Due to considerable interest, we have added a 9am class on Tuesdays, starting THIS week. See you there!
We will no longer be offering a 6am class on Thursdays. 6am classes are still offered on Thursdays at CFO and EGA.
RSVP for the Horn Baby Shower!
We will be celebrating Baby “Homer” Horn as well as parents Alexis and Jacques this Sunday, May 7th from 2pm-4pm. There will be cake for those who RSVP (please!) and drinks as well as some fun activities.
